Football Manager 2006 remains a holy grail for fans of football management simulations. Released during an era of transition for global football, it captured a unique moment where legendary veterans shared the pitch with a historic generation of rising talent.

Before he became a disciplined defensive midfielder in Europe, Lucas Leiva was a dynamic, box-to-box midfielder in the Grêmio youth ranks, often identified simply as "Lucas" in FM06.

A masterful career. Fàbregas became Arsenal captain, won the World Cup and Euros with Spain, and lifted league titles with both Barcelona and Chelsea. The Cult Icons: Better in the Database Than Reality

The undisputed king of football simulation hype. In FM06, Freddy Adu was a dynamic attacking midfielder who could be bought relatively cheaply. His high flair, pace, and determination turned him into a Ballon d'Or winner within five seasons. Real life was much harsher, as Adu became a journeyman, playing for over a dozen clubs without ever fulfilling his virtual potential. Cesc Fàbregas (Arsenal)

Fàbregas was already breaking into Arsenal's first team in real life, and his FM06 stats reflected his elite vision. As a teenager, he already possessed passing, creativity, and technique attributes that rivaled seasoned veterans. Building a midfield around him ensured your team dominated possession for fifteen years. Vincent Kompany (Anderlecht)

: Widely considered the best young goalkeeper in the game. He was a cult hero for FM players, often remaining at CSKA for his entire career in real life, just as many did in their saves.

(Real Madrid): Just joined Madrid; he has the potential to become the best CB/RB in the world. Anthony Vanden Borre Agüero, Ben Arfa, Mokoena, Adu, Vanden Borre

Reality mirrored the database. Messi exceeded even his massive in-game potential, winning eight Ballon d'Or titles and cementing his status as one of the greatest football players in history. Cesc Fàbregas (Arsenal)

The beauty of FM06 is the tragedy of "what if."

FM06 arguably had the most stacked collection of future superstars in the series' history. A Greek FM fansite, , compiled the list of 16 players who were given the coveted PA -10 rating in the January update of Football Manager 2006 .

Enter a password
  • Open the Generate tab and type a demo password (avoid real credentials).
Step 2.
Select an algorithm
  • For new systems, Argon2id is generally recommended.
Step 3.
Set parameters:
  • Argon2id: Memory (MiB), Iterations (t), Parallelism (p).
  • bcrypt: Cost (2cost rounds).
  • scrypt: N (power of two), r, p.
  • PBKDF2: Iterations and digest (SHA-256/512).
Step 4.
Generate Password Hash
  • Click Generate Password Hash. Copy the encoded string.

Which hashing function should I use?

For new systems, Argon2id is generally recommended. bcrypt and scrypt are widely deployed; PBKDF2 is a compatibility fallback. Always benchmark and choose parameters that meet your latency targets.
