It depends on how many you install. A few pieces of custom content (like a loading screen or some hairstyles) won't affect performance at all. But if you start downloading dozens of high-detail items or large gameplay mods, you may notice longer load times or occasional lag. This is especially true for "Alpha" CC (hyper-realistic content), which is more demanding on your computer than "Maxis Match" CC (which matches the game's art style).

When placing files, a general rule is that .package files can be up to 5 folders deep, but .ts4script files should not be more than one folder deep within your Mods folder for the game to recognize them correctly.
Drag the extracted files—the .package and .ts4script files—directly into your Mods folder (the one we located earlier). That's it. There's no complex installer to run or registry keys to edit.
Navigate to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 . Copy the entire Saves and Tray folder to your desktop. If the mod breaks your world, you can revert back.
